I didn't anticipate reaching Roncevalles tonight but as I made valcarlos, my intended destination, in 3 hours I thought I'd push on. The initial hills green beyond green and then up, up, up, more up than imaginable, we climbed. Just as we were about to give up the top of the Ibaneta pass appeared out of the clouds... The weather was perfect all day - not a drop of rain...but snow forecast for the morrow!
