Meandering in Madrid

I've had to suspend my Camino as I've caught a bug I can't seem to shake. I spent today in Madrid, mostly cosied up with a good book before flying out tomorrow to Sarajevo to see Sophie and Bojan. This morning I determined to see Picasso at La Reina Sofia - but found the doors closed....
I wasn't overly impressed with the Plaza Mayor after all the lively and well inhabited plazas of the towns. It was just a tourist trap. Zoom in to see the naked ladies dancing on its walls!

  1. Dear Kate

What a shock to get up this morning and read your post. We are feeling for you and imagine it must have been a hard decision to suspend your pilgrimage. It's also horrible to be unwell when you are on your own in a strange place - especially when you need to keep moving and your body is protesting. We hope that your time with Sophie and Bojan is restorative and that you are able to discern what your next steps need to be. We are holding you in our thoughts and prayers peregrina.

  2. Oh Kate.. I'm so sorry to hear your experience has been suspended but so glad you have someone nearby to stay with and recoup. Take care, rest up well... and enjoy the delights of Sarajevo as best you can until you decide what's next. Lots love cuz x
